Cesar Chavez Memorial (Updated six months ago)
KPIX local Emmy Award winning report on the funeral procession and memorial celebrations for civil rights activist Cesar Chavez, from Delano in Kern County, California (1993). Features interviews with farm workers, Jimmy Smits, Jesse Jackson and Pete Wilson, who all reflect on what the life and work of Chavez meant to them. Dolores Huerta states that: "Cesar's death has ensured the life of the United Farm Workers." Also includes scenes of over 35,000 mourners passing through the streets of Delano, pallbearers carrying Chavez's coffin and UFW members singing union songs.
