DOMENICHINO (aka Domenico Zampieri (1581 - 1641): Domenichino was commissioned by the Congregation of San Girolamo della Carita to paint an altarpiece depicting this rare medieval story of Jerome receiving his last communion. He is also paying homage to Agostino Carracci's Last Communion of St. Jerome.
