Michelangelo Merisi da CARAVAGGIO (1573 - 1610): This piece was made for the Cardinal Federico Borromeo. The subject was taken from two symbolic bowls of fruit already in the church of San Clemente where the congregation of the Ambrosiani di Milano gathered.
