ETHIOPIAN 2ND GONDARINE STYLE Anonymous (c. 1730 - 19th c): The two small figures most likely represent Adam and Eve who are redeemed by Christ's blood. The prostrate figure below the cross is the imperial donor. The paintings were originally ascribed to the 17th century painter Haile Meskel, but the age of the building itself would put them in the early 19th century.
