ETHIOPIAN AXUMITE Anonymous (c. 100 BCE - c. 700): Kohaito was described in the 1st century BCE as a trading center in the Central Highlands on the crossroads between Axum and Adulus on the coast. The finely dressed stonework speaks to the sophistication of the area.
