SUMERIAN EARLY DYNASTIC Anonymous (2900 BCE - 2730 BCE): Early Dynastic III. From the grave of Queen Pu-abi in the Royal Cemetery at Ur (grave PC 800). The wooden parts of the lyre had decayed in the soil so the excavator poured plaster of Paris into the depression left by the wood hence preserving the decoration in place.
