ETRUSCAN Anonymous: This is a detail of the side of the oldest known decorated sarcophagus that was preserved from Etruria. The entire sarcophagus is composed of two joined cinerary urns and this detail shows the relief that is sculpted on the wall of one of the urns. The relief features a lion stylized with Orientalizing characteristics.
