PALEOLITHIC Anonymous (1500000 BCE - 8000 BCE): The floor of the cave is approx. 40x85 m; the opening about 20 m high; the entrance has risen about 10 m. Excavations revealed layers of middle and upper Paleolithic, Epipaleolithic (Mesolithic), and Neolithic occupancy which seem to correlate with sea level changes during the ice age. Findings included gazelle bones and a child's skull.
