ETHIOPIAN JUDAIC Anonymous: Most of the Falashas, so-called Bet Israel or "black Jews," were airlifted to Israel in the 1980 and 1890s. They had practiced an early form of Judaism since very early days. Traditionally Judaism had been brought to Ethiopia when the young Menalik, son of Sheba and Solomon, returned to Ethiopia bringing the Ark of the Covenant with him.
