ETHIOPIAN LATER SOLOMONIC Anonymous: Through the intercession of Mary a soul is saved from the torments of hell because he had given water to someone who was thirsty and a cannibal is saved because he cuts off his tongue. The Miracles of the Virgin had been introduced by Emperor Dawit (1382-1431) and became part of the liturgy in 1441.
