ETHIOPIAN SOLOMONIC DYNASTY Anonymous: The original church was thought to have been built by King Ezana in the 4th century, but it was destroyed in the 16th by the Moslem leader Ahmed Gragn. It was rebuilt by Emperor Fasilidas in the 17th century.
