ISLAMIC Anonymous: The Naga Mosque is the oldest in Tripoli. It was founded sometime during the 7th-10th centuries, possibly by the Arab conquerer Amr Ibn al-As in 642, or the Fatimid Caliph al -Muizz in 912. It was restored in 1610. Some of the 36 columns and capitals in the hypostyle prayer hall are reused from Roman buildings.
