BYZANTINE PROVINCIAL Anonymous (c. 330-1453): The original mosaic floor was made up of 10 rows of 5 square panels set into a grid pattern with a frame of looped-circles.. The basilica was erected during an urban expansion campaign under the Emperor Justinian. Ananeosis means renovation or renewal.
