David Valentine (the reporter in this clip) was my great friend and mentor...been dead for 17 years and I still think of him often and miss him like crazy. He had a zest for life and a love for the English language. I hope he is somewhere "laughing and scratchin"'s to you DV.

Thank you for posting this interview... Earlene is my grandmother, I never got to meet her. It was awesome to hear her voice. I'm going to share it with my father.

Actually this old footage was a lot better then I imagined it would be.  I don't think Earlene Brown skated as long as noted though.  She was a former Olympic shot-put champion.  In San Francisco her New York Bombers, Los Angeles Thunderbirds, and Texas Outlaws were competing in a rare interleague event with the San  Francisco Bay Bombers.  Never had a chance to see those games.  My late friend did and wow the war stories he told me of those games!  Thanks for saving this.
