Former Castro Video at 525 Castro; Video store has closed. During the AIDS epidemic, video stores popped up all over the Castro, their specialty was gay pornography. By the 1990s, gay porn was available online in chatrooms. Competition from Netflix, the internet, etc. caused video stores to fold one by one.
