DIVA: Bay Area Television Archive (Updated over a year ago)
DIVA (Digital Information Virtual Archive) is working with the Bay Area Television Archive at SF State's J Paul Leonard Library to digitize and provide on the web hundreds of hours of news film, documentaries, and other programs produced locally in the Bay Area and Northern California between 1939-2005. In this video, hear about why public access to this archive is so unique and important from Alex Cherian (film archivist), Mark Dean Johnson and Philip Klasky (scholars), and Eloy Martinez (Alcatraz Occupation activist).
