Sunnyvale Plane Crash

KPIX Eyewitness news report from April 13th 1973 featuring views of firefighters and emergency service workers dealing with the aftermath of a mid-air plane crash over the Sunnyvale Municipal Golf Course. Also includes an interview with an eyewitness, who was on the golf course. Full details about this crash can be reviewed on the Aviation Safety Network's website. Please note the lone survivor of this crash was Bruce Mallibert, a naval radar operator. The young man being interviewed in 1973, who describes covering what he thought was a corpse with a parachute, was actually shrouding Mallibert's unconscious body. Mallibert was interviewed by KPIX-TV in 2013 and described these events from 40 years ago.

My uncle was on of the 16 that died on that plane and I finally found footage and newspaper articles of that fatal accident.

All day long I answered the phone, "Dad's alive.  Hello."   Many times.   He worked for NASA/Ames and was often on that plane.  And still today, 2018, writing about it gives me chills.

My father said there was one man who would have been aboard the NASA plane except his experiment wasn't quite ready, so he stayed on the ground.

The explaination my employee father was told was the controller somehow directed both pilots to the same runway, hence the crash.

Is there any way to view the interview by Mallibert on KPIX in 2013? When I click on the link, nothing happens. I was there at that air crash near NASA Ames in 1973.
