Christian Methodist Episcopal Temple Church at 1455 Golden Gate Avenue - 1983 (Updated over a year ago)

You can view this bundle in the Max Kirkeberg Collection collection area.

Christian Methodist Episcopal Temple Church built in 1907 for the First United Presbyterian Church. In 1951, they moved to a site at Sloat Boulevard and 35th Avenue. This is an example of a fairly common occurence of white congregations moving west once the neighborhood became predominately African American.
