The words are lyrics by Holly Near: "If you can die...sing...live for freedom. I can too. Si puedes morir...cantar...vivir por libertad yo tambien puedo." The Library was upgraded in 2009 with new restrooms, ADA accessibility, and computers. At the time, neighbors were concerned about saving the murals, as they were historic and done by locals; some were saved, but most were not. See later slides for views in 2010.
