It is a 12 acre campus purchased in the 1930s as a home for wayward Catholic girls. The building had to be repurposed in 1977 due to a lack of nuns, girls, and money. The neighborhood fought against a proposal for a juvenile mental health facility. The Board of Supervisors voted no, and the mayor vetoed the decision. It became the Campus Youth Project for two years, run by California Youth Authority. In 1983 it became Bridgemont Christian High School, and needed many repairs from its period as the Campus Youth Project. In November of 1998, Wells Fargo evicted the school for defaulting. The building is the Cornerstone Academy and Fellowship Academy & Pre-School as of 2015.
