KRON-TV news footage from October 20th 1966 featuring scenes from a San Francisco inquest hearing over the killing of teenager Matthew 'Peanut' Johnson by SFPD patrolman Alvin Johnson. This shooting in the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood on September 27th 1966 provoked a social uprising in the local community and resulted in the National Guard being called out. Includes views of the courtroom, of Alvin Johnson and of Matthew 'Peanut' Johnson's family. Also interviews with the opposing legal counsels (the Johnson's family lawyer is Johnnie Cochran), who discuss the verdict of "excusable homicide." Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
