This was previously a recreational complex associated with Woodward Gardens 1907. The Roberts Field baseball field was constructed and used by six semi-professional teams. Seals Stadium then replaced Roberts Field. The new complex, built in 1942, is the fourth public housing project in San Francisco. "Poor Peoples Moderne" style by Henry Thompson, Jr. & William W. Wurster. The courtyards have Buffano sculptures. In the fall of 1997, an exterior fence was built. The old complex has been torn down, and, as of October 1995, new buildings are nearing completion and are to be managed by Mission Housing Development Corporation.
