Photographic spread about the Training School at San Francisco State Teachers College that was later renamed the Frederic Burk School. The Training School offered enrolled grammar school children subjects including math and science, music, drama, art, literature, sewing and cooking, and physical education. The Training School consisted of class levels from kindergarten through the eighth grade. Student teachers attending the Normal School observed master teachers as part of their education curriculum. Under the supervision of teachers, they taught, produced instructional materials and lesson plans, and tested their outcomes.
