Photograph of the Nyoda Club established to institute an employment bureau, book exchange, and group to guide members with good literature, music, and art. Nyoda was chosen for the name because it means "rainbow" and it was a service organization to organize physical fitness, storytelling and dance classes among immigrant children and may have been involved with the Immigrant Education program started at the San Francisco State Teachers College in 1924. Dean of Women Mary Ward is pictured with the group and the club officers included Lola Ives (president), Irma Quinlan (vice president), and Esther Morris (secretary-treasurer).
