Photograph of San Francisco State’s great iron man named Runar Stone. Stone was San Francisco State’s “Ace” point-getter on track squads in 1935 and 1936. Stone, a.k.a. “”Kichy Koo”, “Finn”, and Ru, was a champion decathlon athlete, one of the best three decathlon athletes in California. Stone was the “greatest all-around athlete in State history at the time and was awarded a Block “S” in basketball, football, and track. Stone reflected of the greatest spirit in State athletics and received Alpha Phi Gamma athletic awards. Beyond athletics, Stone was the student body sign painter, college night watchman, and student executive. After graduating, Stone remained as staff and was regarded as as a college institution.”
