Ron Dellums Wins Congressional Seat

KPIX-TV news footage from November 4th 1970 featuring brief scenes from the victory party of Ron Dellums, who has just secured the 7th Congressional District of California and a seat in the House of Representatives. Dellums thanks a jubilant crows of supporters and says: "Let me first of all thank every one of you from the bottom of my heart!" Having already defeated the Democratic incumbent Jeffery Cohelan in the primary, Dellums took 57% of the vote in this election, beating Republican candidate John Healy, despite an attack on his "radical" credentials by the Vice President Spiro Agnew.
