USS Oriskany Returns From 5th Vietnam Deployment (1970)

KPIX-TV news footage from December 10th 1970 with reporter Pat O'Brien featuring scenes of the USS Oriskany returning with her crew of 3300 sailors from her 5th Vietnam deployment (a 7 month tour of duty). Includes views of the Oriskany sailing in San Francisco Bay and under Golden Gate Bridge and of sailors being welcomed home by loved ones at the naval air station, on Alameda Pier. It should be noted that the Oriskany originally set sail from New York in 1950 and on May 17th 2006, a team of Navy personnel sank this ship off the Florida coast at Pensacola, to become an artificial reef.
