José Montoya: April 13, 1977
The Poetry Center presents José Montoya, activist and co-founder (with Esteban Villa) of the Royal Chicano Air Force, and Chicana/o Studies professor at California State University, Sacramento, reads his poetry at San Francisco State University. Montoya for this appearance is introduced by Lewis MacAdams, Poetry Center director, with the event taking place in the erstwhile Barbaray Coast Room in the César Chavez Student Center at SF State.
Note: the substance of an earlier part of the program, for which Montoya's reading is "the second half" (viz MacAdams's welcome, aimed at the audience) is not indicated directly, although Montoya in his remarks alludes to a group reading event "last night" at Intersection for the Arts.
