Shadowscope Machine and Individualized English Card Set (Updated last month)

A Shadowscope instructional viewer sits beside a box of Individualized English exercise cards, part of a self-paced learning program commonly used in language and reading labs during the 1960s–1980s. Students inserted a card into the viewer, which projected the printed text downward onto the slanted viewing surface and revealed hidden answer areas through optical masking. The adjacent handwritten sign reminds users to return the cards to their proper order — an essential step for maintaining the structured sequence of the program.
