Freddy Proano (white jersey, positioned between #6 and #20) scores for San Francisco State University as the ball sails past the defenders and into the net against NCAC Champion Cal State Hayward (now Cal State East Bay) during a men’s soccer match. The moment is captured from behind the goal, with players reacting as the shot finds its mark. In the background stands Verducci Hall, a campus residence building named after longtime SFSU football coach Joe Verducci. The building was later demolished after sustaining severe damage in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.
