KTVU news footage from December 8, 1968, featuring scenes from a press conference by newspaper journalists including Herb Caen, Art Hoppe and Warren Hinkle, about the ongoing San Francisco Newspaper strike (which lasted for 53 days). Also includes silent views of women handing out free broadsheet newspapers, in Union Square. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks. This 16mm b&w reversal film print was scanned in 5K (5120 x 3840) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in January 2026.
