KTVU news footage from December 21, 1968, with reporter Pat McCormick, featuring scenes from Union Square in San Francisco, where McCormick tells us that retail sales are apparently down from last year. He also interviews shoppers, asking: "Are they spending less or more" and a Salvation Army officer, who states that their charitable donations are up. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks. This 16mm color reversal film print was scanned in 5K (5120 x 3840) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in January 2026.
