CAROLINGIAN Anonymous (750 - 987): Depicts scenes of the story of Susanna as recorded in the Apocrypha. An inscription states it was engraved for Lothar King of the Franks; probably Lothar II of Lotharingia (855-869). The golded copper frame was added in the 15th century. Possibly made in Aachen.
