POLYNESIAN Anonymous: Moai are stone statues of human figures found on Rapa Nui (Easter Island). The name of this moai means stolen or hidden friend. It was collected by the crew of the English ship HMS Topaze on their visit to Easter Island in 1868. It was originally painted red and white.
