Harry Brakebill: Vice President

Harry E. Brakebill, 1948. Business Manager, Executive Dean, Vice President. BA (1937) San Jose State University. Brakebill served as an officer in the United States Navy between 1943 and 1945. President Paul Dodd promoted Brakebill to Vice President for Business Affairs in 1964 as part of a reorganization. Brakebill, Orrin deLand, and Dean John Hensill were instrumental in the construction of the Biological Sciences Building (Hensill Hall). Chancellor Glenn Dumke appointed Brakebill to work as Chief Fiscal Officer at the Chancellor’s Office replacing John J. Richardson when Richardson miscalculated faculty salaries throughout the system compelling it to do a 1.8 percent pay cut to all faculty.
