William Corbett-Jones. 1967. Professor of Music. Studied at University of Southern California; Julliard School; San Francisco Conservatory of Music; Academia Chigiana in Siena, Italy. Corbett-Jones traveled on a five-week tour through Asia in 1981 with Leo Chen and 35 other individuals from California where he offered master classes. In the November 10, 1981 issue of the Golden Gater he advised students, “not to concentrate solely on technical skills, but to apply culture, travel, reading, and foreign languages to their study of music.” Corbett-Jones performed in benefit concerts for Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Fund.
