Benjamin P. Draper, 1963. Assistant Professor Radio-Television-Film. PA (1928) and MA (1936) University of Denver; advanced studies University of Chicago, University of California, Berkeley, and University of Denver. Draper was an inaugural writer for the PBS production of Science in Action with the California Academy of Sciences. During the early 1960s, he started compiling a lexicography of the performing arts. Draper claimed that the Frank V. de Bellis Collection was a treasure trove of material for the project (Golden Gater, October 18, 1965). Draper was director of the 1973-1974 Broadcast Industry Conference and coordinated a radio and television transmission of the conference throughout the Pacific Rim. He studied Sir Francis Drake’s voyage to California. Draper was awarded a Governor’s Award from the Northern California Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 1975. Last listed in 1977-1978. Died on July 9, 1980.
