Herbert C. V. Feinstien. 1959. Professor of English. BA (1948) Columbia University; J.S. (1951) Harvard University; MA (1959) and Ph.D. (1968) University of California, Berkeley; advanced studies at Indiana University. Feinstein was an expert on the Mark Twain lawsuits and had a reputation for “collecting” degrees. He conducted interviews on public radio (locally on KPFA) with noted figures in the arts. He was a consultant for the Mill Valley Film Festival.
