Robert “Robyn” E. Gajdusek. 1965. Professor of English. BA (1949) Princeton University; MA (1950) Columbia University; advanced studies University of California, Berkeley, University of Kansas, and Columbia University. Gajdusek was a short story author and an internationally recognized interpreter of the work of Ernest Hemingway. His first year at SF State, students selected him for the first Distinguished Teacher Award from the California State Legislature. Gajdusek retired in 1992. He died on June 26, 2003.
