Herbert W. Bielawa. 1966. Professor of Music. BS and BM (1954) and MM (1958) at University of Illinois; DMA (1969) University of Southern California. Bielawa was a noted composer in electronic forms and choral conductor who fostered avant-garde music at SF State. He taught two electronic music synthesis courses and developed a lab using early 1960s synthesizers where students produced programing for SF State’s cable channel 35.
