Franklin F. Sheehan, 1954. Professor of Mathematics; Executive Dean and Director of Campus Development. BS (1947) and advanced study at Stanford University. In teaching mathematics, Sheehan was a specialist in statistical analysis. He did special consulting in mathematical statistics and operations research for the federal government. Sheehan oversaw the building of two science buildings on campus and the student union known as Cesar Chavez Student Center. Sheehan was also a woodworker who made his office desk out of repurposed piano.
