Hilda Taba. 1951. Professor of Educational Administration. BA (1926) University of Tertu; MA. (1927) Bryn Mawr College; Ph.D. (1929) Teachers College Columbia University. Taba was a curriculum theorist developed who believed in the power of individuals and groups in educational contexts to realize significant social goals. She was an expert on relations between ethnic groups, curriculum development and the development of thinking processes in children. Taba encouraged students to interact with teachers in a mediator role, rather than a teacher. She participated in the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization in Paris and Brazil. She promoted peer-to-peer teaching and sharing of ideas. Died on July 6, 1967.
