Donald L. Garrity (1926–1994) served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at San Francisco State University and later as Provost. László Varga was a distinguished cellist and faculty member in the university’s music department. Events such as this reflect the social and cultural life of the university community.
Lazslo Varga. 1963. Professor of Music; Director of SF State’s Chamber Music Center. Diploma from Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Hungary. Principal cellist with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Varga was also a composer.
