Don W. Scoble (B.A., 1962; M.A., 1971, San Francisco State University) had a long administrative career at San Francisco State University. He began as Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs in 1965 and became Assistant to the President in 1968, serving during a period of significant student protest and institutional change.
In 1972, he was appointed Director of Public Affairs, overseeing university communications and public relations. Over subsequent decades, he held several senior administrative roles, including Executive Director of Business Affairs and Associate Vice President for Business and Finance, with responsibilities spanning budgeting, communications, and alumni relations.
Scoble later returned to serve as Chief of Staff to President Robert A. Corrigan in 2001 and retired in 2002 after decades of service. He was widely recognized for his institutional knowledge and long-standing commitment to the university.
