Gators Interception Attempt, Cox Stadium, 1963

A San Francisco State College Gator in light uniform leaps to intercept a pass during a 1963 game at Cox Stadium. Number 49 rises into the air with full extension as number 69 trails close behind, both framed sharply against the hillside bleachers and tall eucalyptus trees. Teammates and opponents converge in the background, while the “STATE” banner along the sideline affirms the home field. The photograph captures a dramatic moment of athletic timing and focus from the Gators’ 1963 season.
