Cowboy Hat on the Fence

A Frederic Burk School boy in a wide-brimmed cowboy hat sits astride the farm gate, gazing toward the cattle gathered near the barn. With a sweater tied around his waist and sneakers resting on the rails, he looks every bit the young cowboy at ease in the barnyard. The corrugated shed, cattle, and fencing frame the scene, tying together the child’s playful imagination with the working life of the farm.
