Gators Drive the Line, Cox Stadium, 1967

San Francisco State College’s number 50 in a dark jersey engages an opposing player, number 14, during a 1967 football game at Cox Stadium. The Gator lineman pushes forward as another opponent in a white uniform, number starting with 2, falls to the turf. Teammate number 37 closes in on the play, while spectators and sideline players observe from the stands in the background. The photograph captures the power and close contact of a battle at the line of scrimmage.
