Gators Block Attempt, Cox Stadium, 1967

About This Item

A San Francisco State College player in a dark jersey leaps to block a pass during a 1967 football game at Cox Stadium. Number 85 from the opposing team in white charges forward as the Gator elevates with arms outstretched, framed sharply against the hillside bleachers. Behind them, sideline players and coaches observe the play, including opponents numbered 20 and 23. The image freezes a moment of peak athletic timing and defensive effort under clear afternoon light.
