About This Item

An opposing player in a white uniform, number 22, races toward the goal line as San Francisco State College’s number 16 closes in from behind during a 1967 football game at Cox Stadium. The two players sprint across the field beneath the uprights, framed by the hillside trees that surround the end zone. The photograph freezes the pursuit at full speed, illustrating the balance between offense and defense in a defining play of the Gators’ home season.
