Gator Receiver by the Scoreboard, Cox Stadium, 1967

San Francisco State College’s number 5 holds the football near the sideline during a 1967 game at Cox Stadium. Wearing a dark jersey, the player turns slightly as an official in a striped uniform looks on nearby. The stadium scoreboard and a line of tall trees rise in the background, framing the scene in the soft afternoon light. The photograph captures a composed moment of play near the edge of the field, set against the distinct backdrop of the Gators’ home ground.
